2011 Personal Favorites

2011 was another year of growth for me as a photographer, and as a person. Reflecting on the past year and how thankful I am for life has been a great experience. I realize that it's the people that matter most. The people I meet, connect, and work with are what this thing called life is all about. It's my clients, friends, and family who make this all possible. To you people who have made this possible, I want to say thank you for supporting me in what I do.

Below are my personal favorite images from 2011 in no particular order.

Rachel + James // teachout building wedding in des moines

Putting together this post has been quite enjoyable. It's also been a real eye-opener on how fortunate I am, and this wedding serves as the perfect reminder. I actually met Rachel and James for their rehearsal the day before, and felt accepted and welcomed from the start. Everybody was so kind and genuine, while sharing their interest and love in my photography. That feeling of trust in what you do is like steroids for a passionate photographer.

All day I had a smile on my face, just knowing how special of a wedding and celebration it was. The wedding ceremony was at the Salisbury House, and the wedding reception was at the Teachout Building in the East Village.

Thanks for having me be a part of your day Rachel and James. Hope our paths cross again someday.

Glen Oaks Country Club Wedding // Cindy + Nathan

This wedding was such a great experience for me. It was one of those weddings where everything worked out perfect. The people, the venue, the light, the love. It was all there, and made it such an enjoyable wedding. I photographed this wedding with my friend Brian Davis from Des Moines. It was good times hanging out with Brian, and working as a team to get Cindy and Nathan great coverage. Quite a few of Brian's photos are in this set of images.

I think Brian will say some of the same things I will about their wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, with great people, and we were fortunate to have nice light throughout the day.
