2012 / A Year of Reflection

I spent the better part of 2012 stepping back and trying to find my own voice. Although, I was mostly absent from sharing my work, and seeking validation, I have been trying to act more consciously in both my personal and professional life. Through my efforts I think I have found myself exactly where I began. I'm still trying to find the right balance. Perhaps, that could be my most insightful thought yet. Trusting the world around me, and going with the natural flow of things. Viewing the world as one, and taking notice to those little things that work together to build character. There isn't a magical curtain that I need to open, because it's all right in front of my eyes.

When I let my intuition take me over is when magic happens, and 2012 has been about following that inner voice. Looking back on last year it's apparent that I have enjoyed working with all of my clients and who I owe this realization to.

This year I have never felt more trusted from my clients, and it's clear in your stories that we were a perfect fit in working together. You letting me into your lives has been more rewarding that you will ever know.

Here are a few of my favorite moments from 2012.

Jamaica Destination Wedding // Megan & Matt

Eric-Yerke166

I have some early memories from growing up with Matt and Megan. I remember riding the same bus as Megan in grade school, and drinking Busch Light with Matt in high school. And now as we all experience these milestones in life, I can't express how honored I felt to be a part of their wedding celebration. It was great to get away from the daily routine, go to Jamaica, celebrate Matt and Megan's marriage, and see some of my best friends from growing up. I also met a bunch of great people, including Michael Ash. He made the trip, and shot this wedding with me. Check out his work here.

My trip back in April to Breckenridge was nothing but a positive experience. I shot quite a few personal frames on the trip, and you guys have seen a couple of them here and here previously. I also assisted the wonderful photographer Kat Braman shoot a wedding, and it was perfect. I know we generally say that about every wedding, but this one truly was.

The weather, light, and people made this the perfect day. Aside from making new friends I managed to get a couple of shots I liked. Here are a few of my faves. There are many more of my shots on Kat's blog. So check them out here.
